Our CEO, Anthony Chan, attended the highly informative conference in Hong Kong — an incredible gathering of global visionaries exploring the frontiers of AI, semiconductors, photonics, SaaS, and robotics.
Key takeaways:
• Global outlook: Navigating a fragmented and polarized world order with the US and China leading the way and competing for dominance. China does not face a shortage of energy or land, but access to chips. The US faces bottlenecks on cost-effective energy and land. Both countries need to source memory and logic chips. • AI and robotics wave: A multi-modal path with agentic AI ultimately creating automated systems. Hyperscalers and advertising players will benefit. AI will no longer just be a co-pilot but be the “pilot”. Physical AI is where China has an edge with its engineering prowess and extensive supply chain expertise for manufacturing. • Optical and photonics: Silicon photonics is just starting to make an impact, especially for data centres. The key is photonics equipment that allows for full automation to replace manual and semi-automatic systems, and allows smart manufacturing systems to scale productivity and lower the costs of technology adoption.
Thank you to Goldman Sachs and the exceptional speakers for the insights. Staying ahead of these structural shifts ensures we continue to effectively navigate markets and curate investment exposure for our investors and partners.
