  • Anthony is Chief Executive Officer, shareholder and a member of the Board of Isola Capital Group.

    Anthony has broad investment experience across the Asia Pacific region in finance, private equity and venture capital. Anthony had an extensive career in investment banking with Credit Suisse, Citigroup and Lehman Brothers Asia before transitioning to private equity and principal investments.  He has broad investment experience across the Asia Pacific region in consumer, education, food safety, industrial, and technology sectors.

    Anthony attained a Bachelors of Commerce (Finance and Economics) from The University of Sydney and Bachelors of Laws (Honours) from The University of Sydney Law School. He is also a graduate of The College of Law (Sydney) and was admitted to the High Court of Australia and Supreme Court of NSW. Anthony is a graduate from the Financial Engineering Program of Stanford University and attended the Stanford Executive Institute.

    Anthony is a Responsible Officer for Type 1 (Dealing in Securities), Type 4 (Advising on Securities) and Type 9 (Asset Management) activities licensed by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission. Anthony is a member of the Limited Partners Committee, Family Office Committee and Wine Committee of HKVCA, a member of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce Taxation Committee and YEC Executive Committee. He is a member of the Hong Kong Securities and Investments Institute. He holds directorships in various private and public companies.

    Anthony is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese, and a keen tennis player, golfer, wine enthusiast and Formula One fan.

  • Alex is a Managing Director with Isola Capital and responsible for direct investment origination, structuring, execution and portfolio management.

    Alex has extensive private equity and investment banking expereince in the Asia Pacific region. Previously, he spent close to seven years at Olympus Capital, a pan-Asian private equity fund, where he was a Director involved in the investment activities in China and covered the financial services sector on a regional basis. He has completed investments in China and Korea.

    Prior to that, Alex was with Citigroup in Financial Institutions Group and ING Corporate Finance where he developed broad M&A advisory, leveraged buyout, and capital markets expertise in financial services, consumer, retail and technology sectors across the region.

    Alex received his MBA from NYU Stern School of Business and BBA in Finance from National Taiwan University.

    Alex is fluent in English, Mandarin and Taiwanese, and is a keen golfer, runner, snowboarder and rugby fan.

  • Tom Turner is a Portfolio Manager for Isola Capital Asset Management, focusing on customized global wealth management for our HNW/UHNW clients.

    Tom’s primary objectives are to manage his clients’ overall risks and preserve capital while generating reasonable risk adjusted returns. His strategy is a global multi-asset and multi-strategy approach, where he employs a macro top-down investment process combined with bottom-up fundamental and technical analysis. The approach predominately has a long bias with a focus on absolute return.

    Tom has over 30 years’ experience in the capital markets covering various roles and geographies. Most recently, he was the Asian Head of Proprietary Trading at RBS and then CIMB (which acquired the RBS Asian equity business). Prior to that, he worked for Bank of America Merrill Lynch for a decade, where he managed their Korean equity trading in Seoul before moving to Hong Kong to manage a regional equity portfolio. Tom began his career at Cargill, where he spent 20 years covering various roles in Canada, US, Australia, and Asia. He started in their corporate finance department and then went on to hold various roles, including Business Development / Structured Products, Commodity Derivatives Trader, Senior Trader in U.S. Fixed-Income and Equities. Tom’s final role with Cargill (Black River Hedge Fund) was Head of Korea / Taiwan Trading, where he was involved in portfolio management of equities, fixed-income, currencies, trade and structured finance and distressed debt. He was a member of the Asia Regional Investment Committee and the Global Risk Committee for Cargill’s Black River Hedge Fund.

    Tom is a graduate of Business Administration at Red River College and subsequently received a professional accounting designation from C.G.A. of Canada. Tom enjoys spending time with family as well as golf, skiing, trail running, hiking, swimming, ice hockey, and of course, food / music.

  • Linda is a Managing Director for Isola Capital Asset Management, focusing on core portfolio management for our HNW/UHNW clients.

     

    Linda has over 30 years’ experience in the asset management and wealth management industry across the Greater China region.  She began her career with Citicorp as a research assistant, followed by research and CRM roles with Barclays in Taiwan.  Linda then spent 12 years with Barings Asset Management, culminating in the role of General Manager for their Taiwan operations.  Subsequently, over a 14 year period in private banking, Linda held various senior roles with Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch, Credit Agricole and Julius Baer.  Most recently Linda leveraged her extensive experience at several multi-family office platforms in Hong Kong, before joining Isola Capital to develop and manage our Core Portfolio capabilities.

     

    Linda graduated with a B.A. from Soochow University (Taipei) majoring in German and attained an EMBA from National Taiwan University.  She enjoys hiking and aerobics dancing.

  • Mary Chiu is a Director for Isola Capital focusing on family office solutions.

     

    Mary brings to the platform skill sets in Investor Relations, Capital Markets, Corporate Finance and Asset Management.  Most recently, Mary was a Director for UBS’ Global Family Office operations, providing investment solutions across the wealth management and institutional platform to large family offices.  Prior to that,  she worked at Morgan Stanley’s investment banking division covering Hong Kong companies for initial public offerings, debt and equity capital raisings, and M&A.

     

    Mary graduated from Trinity College at the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Arts, double majoring in Economics and Philosophy.  She received a MBA with Distinction from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University, specializing in Asset Management and Capital Markets.   Mary is fluent in English, and speaks Cantonese and Mandarin. She enjoys practicing Wing Chun Kungfu and Ashtanga yoga.

    Greg is a Director with Isola Capital focusing on direct investments.  Prior to joining Isola Capital, Greg advised corporate and financial sponsor clients on M&A and capital markets transactions in Hong Kong, US, UK and Korea with Deutsche Bank, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs.  Prior to a career in investment banking, Greg spent 4 years with Samsung Electronics in Seoul.
     
    Greg received his MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, MA from Seoul National University and BA from Korea University.  Greg is fluent in English and Korean.
  • Kyle focuses on direct investments at Isola Capital.  He has completed investments in China and Korea and assisted with successful exits.

    Prior to joining Isola Capital, he was an Analyst at Morgan Stanley Private Equity, where he concentrated on direct investments in Taiwan, China and Southeast Asia.

    Kyle received his B.B.A. in International Business from National Chengchi University in Taipei.

    Kyle is fluent in English, Mandarin and Taiwanese, and is a keen Formula One fan and blackjack player.

  • Vincent has over 25 years of extensive capital markets and banking experience in the Far East. He started his career in the financial industry with Merrill Lynch and worked in various senior capacities with ABN Amro Bank (Singapore), Swiss Bank Corporation and Bankers Trust & Company in Hong Kong and China.

  • John is a member of the Board of Directors and a member of the Advisory and Operating Committee of Isola Capital Group, representing members of the Hsu family as shareholders in Isola Capital Group. John’s family has been in the business of owning and operating bulkers, tankers, and specialized ships for six generations through entities including Sincere Navigation Corp. and Oak Maritime, Inc.

    Since 1993, John has been responsible for managing the Hsu family’s investment portfolio through their family office, OSS Capital. From 2003 to 2010 he was partner of Ajia Partners, one of Asia’s largest privately-owned alternative investment firms. From 1998 to 2002, he was Chief Investment Officer of Matrix Global Investments, a hedge fund in US-listed technology companies.

    John has been a Director of Seaspan Corporation (NYSE) since April 2008 and Chair of the Compensation Committee since February 2011.

    John received his B.A. from Colgate University and his MBA from Columbia University, and is fluent in English, Japanese and Mandarin.

  • Maxence is the Head of Asia at Sofina S.A. He represents Sofina Group, which is a shareholder of Isola Capital Group, as a member on the Board of Directors and the Advisory and Operating Committee of Isola Capital Group.

    Maxence is a Non-Executive Director of GL Events and Vives Louvain Technology Fund. Before joining Sofina S.A., he served in various positions at ING Bank in Brussels and Paris.

    Maxence graduated from Louvain School of Management (Université Catholique de Louvain) and Indian Institute of Management Calcutta.

  • David is a member of the Board of Directors and the Advisory and Operating Committee of Isola Capital Group. He is a co-founder of Starcrest Capital Partners Limited, a professionally managed independent private equity real estate practice focusing on investments opportunities in China. Besides investing in his core real estate business, David also holds diversified business interests in other sectors through direct investment or investing in funds.

    David has over a decade of experience in the finance and real estate investment industries. Prior to co-founding Starcrest Capital Partners in 2010, he was previously with Goldman Sachs Asian Special Situations Group where he was responsible for managing the firm’s proprietary real estate investing activities in equity, debt, hybrid and direct assets across both the private and public markets, including restructuring some Chinese private real estate companies with a total investment of over US$1.5 billion. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, David was with MGPA, one of the largest real estate fund managers in Asia where he focused on direct asset and joint venture investments in the Asia ex-Japan region.

    David is a graduate of Ohio State University with an honors degree in Business Administration.

  • Suk Whan is currently the CEO of Idea Bridge Asset Management, Inc., an asset management company which is licensed as a group investment business by the FSC (Financial Services Commission) of Korea, with specialized expertise in Intellectual Property investments. Previously Mr Chang was the CEO of the venture capital subsidiary of Intellectual Discovery, a South Korean government sponsored organization that focuses on acquiring and deploying global intellectual property, with shareholders including Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, SK and Hyundai Motor Group.

    Suk Whan was also the Founder and Managing Partner of Han Asset, Inc., a private equity fund established in 1999, investing in Korea with a focus on corporate restructurings and special situations. Prior to founding Han Asset, Inc. Suk Whan was the Managing Partner of Soros Consultants, Inc., exclusively advising Soros Fund Management on their direct investments into Korea. Between 2005 and 2009, Suk Whan served as the Chief Executive Officer of Qunno Metal Technologies, Inc.

    Earlier in his career, Suk Whan developed extensive experience in international finance, holding senior positions in Asia, Europe and the US, including Managing Director at Daishin International (Europe) Ltd. in London, Head of Broking at SBC Warburg Securities in Seoul and Managing Director at Tong Yang Securities (America), Inc. in New York in 1997.

    Suk Whan is a member of the Investment and Finance Advisory Committee of Korea Expressway Corporation and the Korea Energy Foundation Investment Committee. He has been the Regional Chair of Massachusetts Institute of Technology Educational Counselors since 2006.

    Suk Whan graduated with a BS in Architecture from MIT and an MBA (Finance and International Business) from the Sloan School of Management, MIT.
     

  • Jean is a member of the Advisory and Operating Committee of Isola Capital Group, representing Deltec International Group as a founding shareholder. He was the founder of DIC Entertainment, an international film and television production company and animation studio responsible for creating and producing television shows. By 1981, DIC group of companies had become the world’s largest creator and producer of children’s programs for television.

    In 1987, Jean sold his interest in the DIC Group and formed C&D (Creativity & Development), which had its main offices in Paris and Tokyo. An associated company, JetLag Productions, was also created in Los Angeles. The newly formed group’s strategy was once again centered on top quality writing and production for children. By 1996, the C&D Group included a film library that had grown to more than 1,500 half hours and was sold to the Saban/Fox Kids Network joint venture that year. Jean’s creations include renowned shows including: Inspector Gadget, Heathcliff, The Littles, Ulysses 31, The Care Bears, Kissyfur, The Real Ghostbusters, The Cities of Gold, Dennis the Menace, Zoobilee Zoo, Conan the Adventurer, M.A.S.K., Jayce & The Wheeled Warriors, Lady Lovelylocks, King Arthur and The Knights of Justice, The Bots’ Master, The Littlest Pet Shop, Happy Ness and Cyrano 2022.

    After a long and distinguished career in film and television production in Europe, Hollywood and Japan, Jean moved to Beijing, China in 2004 to set up Mediaplus Capital, a boutique investment and venture capital platform focusing on renewable energy and consumer food and beverage opportunities in China.

    Jean is a founder and Chairman of The StoryPlus Foundation, originally established in Switzerland, which is a charity organisation focused on providing underprivileged children with necessary means to study. The Foundation also funds schools & orphanages in underdeveloped countries and provides teachers with free stories for their students. The Foundation has also joined forces with other charitable organizations that strive to improve the education level and well-being of children around the world.

  • Ho Sing serves as the Chief Executive Officer of YTL Starhill Global REIT Management Ltd., the Manager of Starhill Global Real Estate Investment Trust.

    Ho Sing has over 15 years of leadership and management experience with multi-national companies in engineering, medical, infrastructure and real estate. These included senior positions in Singapore Technologies Group, Dornier Medical, Sembcorp Industries Ltd. and Guocoland Ltd.

    Ho Sing is currently an Independent Non-Executive Director of Damian Development Bhd., a company listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.

    Ho Sing holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the Univesity of Texas, Austin, USA. He completed the Stanford Executive Program at Stanford University in 2002.

  • David is a shareholder and a member of the Advisory and Operating Committee of Isola Capital Group. He is a Responsible Officer for Type 1 (Dealing in Securities), Type 4 (Advising on Securities) and Type 9 (Asset Management) activities licensed by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission.

    He has over twenty years of institutional investment experience in public and private markets. He is based in Hong Kong where he splits his time between seeding and advising various start-ups, and focusing on investment opportunities resulting from anomalies between the Eastern and the Western parts of the world. David was a Founding Partner of KDA Capital, a long only European equity fund until 2010, when he returned the entire cash back to L.P.s, correctly anticipating the European sovereign crisis.

    Prior to that, David spent ten years as a Portfolio Manager at Fidelity Investments in London and Boston, managing various investment funds including the award-winning Fidelity Europe Aggressive Fund with over USD6 billion AUM.

    David is a graduate of HEC Business School (Paris) and of the INSEAD MBA Programme. His various interests include European modern art and public affairs, which led him to launch and contribute for three years (2010-2012) to "Market Makers" in the leading French newspaper "Les Echos".

  • David is a shareholder and member of the Advisory and Operating Committee of Isola Capital Group. He is Managing Director of Pearson English Direct Delivery Business and the CEO of Wall Street English International, which was acquired by Pearson Longman LLC in 2010.

    David started his career at Wall Street English China as the Operations Director in 2001, and became the CEO in China in August 2002. Wall Street English China experienced tremendous growth under his guidance and expanded its presence in key markets including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, with the opening of over 50 learning centers in nine years.

    In August 2010, David was appointed CEO of Wall Street English International, which has 450 learning centers in 28 countries around the world. Prior to joining Wall Street English, he worked as the UK Operations Director for KinderCare Learning Centers, the largest private childcare operator in the world. In that role he was responsible for planning and implementing the start-up of KinderCare’s UK business. He was also a founder and General Manager of Bright Horizons Day Nurseries in the UK.

    David has worked in business development roles for Marriott Hotels, TRW (in the aerospace industry), and Marsh McLennan (in the insurance industry).

    David received his MBA from the University of Bradford and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Politics and Economics from the University of Lancaster. He also holds a Diploma in Marketing Management from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK).

  • Albert is a member of the Advisory and Operating Committee of Isola Capital Group.

    Albert is a Director of Hong Kong based Kingsway Group, a luxury product distribution conglomerate spanning yachts and automobiles, including Lamborghini Automobili in Hong Kong and Guangzhou, China. He is a Co-founder and former Executive Director of JVSakk Group.

    Prior to co-founding JVSakk, Albert was manager of Institutional Sales at SHKFG with specific focus on institution accounts in Singapore and Europe. With more than 10 years experience in the financial industry, he is well versed in special situations advisory, deal management and execution. He is a Responsible Officer for Type 1 (Dealing in Securities) of JVSakk Asia Limited, Type 4 (Advising on Securities) and Type 9 (Asset Management) activities of JVSakk Asset Management Limited, licensed by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission.

    Albert graduated with a Bachelors degree of Business Management from the University of Hong Kong.

    He is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. He is a pianist, avid basketball fan and follows Formula 1.

  • Guillaume is a shareholder and member of the Advisory and Operating Committee of Isola Capital Group. In addition to his responsibilities with his family holdings, Guillaume is the Head of Sales for Asia for La Française Group, a global asset management firm headquartered in Paris with expertise in managing securities and real estate assets.

    Guillaume is also responsible for business development at JK Capital Management Ltd in Hong Kong, an Asian equity and bond asset manager, subsidiary of La Française Group.

    Prior to moving to Hong Kong, Guillaume was Investment Director at HSBC Specialist Investments in London, the property and infrastructure private equity arm of HSBC. Before that he was with JP Morgan in their asset management division.

    Guillaume is a graduate of ESSEC business school in Paris majoring in Finance and he is a CFA charterholder.

  • Frank is member of the Advisory and Operating Committee of Isola Capital Group. 

     

    Frank is President of Scholastic Asia. He was previously Managing Director of PepsiCo Foods in China and Nabisco China, successfully building  brands like Oreo, Chips Ahoy and Ritz in China.

     

    Before his assignments in Asia, he held a series of senior brand management positions with Colgate Palmolive in New York. 

     

    He was non-executive director of Next Media, the largest Chinese newspaper and magazine group in Hong Kong and Taiwan.

     

    Frank graduated with an MA from Columbia University and BA in International Affairs from the George Washington University.

  • Chu Kim is a seasoned investment professional with over 18 years of experience in generating risk adjusted absolute returns from direct investment strategies within the Alternatives space in the US, EU and Asia Pacific regions.  
     

  • Mr. Kono has over 30 years of distinguished experience in global finance, fixed income, equity derivatives, asset management, and business development.  He works extensively with companies and investors in the global fixed income and equity capital markets, with a focus on growth stage including M&A and restructuring the equity ownership and business strategy in many industries.

    Mr. Kono started his career in high finance and has held senior positions at Salomon Brothers and SSB Citi Asset Management both in Tokyo and New York for over 15 years.  He then became Chief Representative of Japan and Managing Director of Roberts Mitani, LLC and Roberts Mitani Advisors, LLC, where he arranged cross-border transactions and capital structures.  Mr. Kono then served as President of Revamp Capital K.K. arranging financing for growth companies.  Since September 2007, Mr. Kono has served as Associate Professor of Keio University (Graduate school of Media and Governance) where he teaches Business and Marketing and works on Electric Vehicles projects.  More recently until 2015, Mr. Kono was CIO and Senior Managing Director of Whiz Partners, a leading Japanese growth private equity fund.

    Mr. Kono has written extensively about capital markets and business management in such reviews as Nikkei Venture and he has lectured on a range of subjects, including international business, global finance, private equity and business development at various programs and seminars.

    Mr. Kono has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Keio University.

    He also serves on the Board of Directors for a number of public and private companies.

  • Jack Poon has founded and advised multiple successful startups including Swiftpath, Telecom Digital Media, Advanced Card Systems, and AtCipher . His broad professional experience and strong academic training enable him to assess opportunities from both a technology and financial perspective. In his last role as co-founded and CEO of AtCipher, a cloud security company that protects privacy for cloud data through patent-pending technologies that enable end-to-end, client-side encryption and secure sharing, he worked closely with ex-government security agencies on cloud encryption, cybersecurity, digital signature, blockchain, and key management. Currently, he serves as Entrepreneur-In-Residence for the Executive MBA Program for Chicago Booth School of Business and is a mentor for various startups.   He began his career in 1988 as an engineer at Intel Corporation and was later Head of Technology services at Freescale Semiconductor, previously known as Motorola Semiconductor.


    Jack holds a MBA from Chicago Booth School of Business with high honors, a Master of Science in Engineering Management with Stanford University, and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering with California Institute of Technology. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.  He is also a holder of 4 US Patents and enjoys photography and investing.
     

  • Maisy is Legal Counsel for Isola Capital with primary responsibility for legal and compliance matters. She has experience across private practice, in-house legal and corporate environments, having previously held roles with Sidley Austin LLP, O’Melveny & Myers LLP, Citibank N.A. (Regional Markets Legal in Singapore) and was Regional Legal Counsel for Aegon Asia.

    Maisy graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) from The University of Melbourne. She holds a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from The College of Law (Victoria). She is admitted as an Australian Lawyer and an officer of the Supreme Court of Victoria.

    Maisy is fluent in English, Cantonese, Mandarin and Bahasa Malay. She enjoys swimming, road biking, cookery and is a foodie at heart.

  • Kevin is responsible for accounting, finance, operations and portfolio management at Isola Capital. Prior to joining Isola Capital, he was a Senior Associate at Deloitte & Touche Financial Advisory Services. Kevin has experience across a range of industries, including agriculture, consumer and infrastructure.

    Kevin received a Bachelor of Arts in Financial Economics (Honors) and Mathematics from University of Rochester. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

    Kevin is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. He is also a keen basketball fan.

    Prior to joining Isola Capital, Crystal was a Manager of a European fund administrator where she was responsible for finance and administration function for its clients. Before that, she has extensive work experience in private equity and real estate fund industry, including audit experience in manufacturing, trading and property development sectors with Ernst & Young.

    Crystal received a Masters in Finance from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Bachelor degree in Accounting from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. She is a Member of The Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CPA).

    Crystal is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.

    Prior to joining Isola Capital, Connie accumulated extensive accounting and finance experience as an Accounting and Finance Officer at Hong Kong 3D Museum Limited, Moore Stephens CPA Limited and Wong Brothers & Co CPA.

    Connie received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accountancy (Honours) from City University of Hong Kong. She is a Member of The Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CPA).
